And here we are... at the end of another year. How'd it go for you?
I am nothing if not introspective and reflective and I love me some end of the year tools for looking back at where I've been, what I accomplished (or didn't), and for pondering the next year to come. Each year I clear my calendar and make time for a day to stay home in my jimjams with a hot cup of tea (or three) to take stock of all that transpired for me in the past year and to vision and dream of all that I'd love to have happen in the coming year.
Winter Solstice ~ the shortest day and longest night in the northern hemisphere ~ seems to me like the perfect day or time of year to pause and reflect and wonder about all that's happened in the past year. It's slightly ahead of the Gregorian calendar but more in tune with the seasons and the path of Earth through the cosmos. This year it happens on Saturday, December 21, but really, any day near abouts that day works just fine!
What about you? Do you have any year-end rituals that help you look back before moving forward?
Now I'm quite aware that in our very busy and very noisy overculture the four days leading up to Christmas are the LAST days that you have time to sit and do nothing but gaze at your navel and ponder the great mysteries of your life. I KNOW! That's exactly why I'm suggesting you do this. Throw off the mantle of busy busy busy, more more more, buy buy buy and slow the fuck down. Pardon my French. Or not, actually. We've run ourselves ragged individually and collectively trying to do and have it all and our mental health is none the better for it. Nor is the health of this planet. So be daring and go against the grain, create some badass boundaries and weave some quiet time into your life. Go on, try it!!
I also love me some Canva and so I created this little pretty little Ten Question list just for you! Enjoy!
And happiest of winter holidays to you and yours!
